Rock strikes forestry worker in Zlatten, seriously injuring him

A 26-year-old forestry worker was seriously injured when a rock struck his left thigh during work in steep terrain near Zlatten in the Bruck-Mürzzuschlag district, ORF reported.

The man was trying to attach a felled tree to a cable winch at about 12:20 p.m. on Tuesday when the rock became dislodged and hit him.

Colleagues provided first aid and alerted emergency services. Mountain rescuers carried the man out of the difficult-to-access terrain, and a rescue helicopter took him to LKH Graz.
