Twelve-year-old suffers serious injuries in E-scooter crash

ORF reported that a 12-year-old boy suffered serious head injuries in an E-scooter crash in Gmünd on Tuesday. He was put into a medically induced deep sleep at the scene and flown by emergency helicopter to AKH Linz.

The accident happened at 12.20 p.m. on Emerich-Berger-Straße, near the delivery entrance of a supermarket. The boy fell on a shared pedestrian and cycle path for reasons that remain unclear. Passers-by provided first aid and alerted emergency services. Police said he was not wearing a helmet.
