Police are searching for a driver who allegedly struck a 16-year-old cyclist in Kleinwalsertal and drove away, ORF reported. The teenager fell about five metres down an embankment and was flown to hospital.
The cyclist was riding towards the town centre on the Kleinwalsertalstraße L201 in Riezlern at about 8.40 a.m. when a car overtook him near the Waldhaus bus stop.
The driver moved back to the right because of oncoming traffic and brushed against the cyclist. The teenager left the road and fell onto a gravel road below.
He was able to call emergency services himself and was flown by emergency medical helicopter to Kempten Hospital in neighbouring Germany.
The driver continued without stopping. Police in Kleinwalsertal are asking witnesses to come forward on 0591338129.
