Police in Carinthia stopped a 17-year-old riding an unregistered motorcycle without a licence and at excessive speed, while also tracing a driver who fled an alcohol-related crash. ORF reported both incidents on Friday.
The teenager from Völkermarkt district was travelling towards Sittersdorf on the Rückersdorfer Straße when a police patrol noticed his dangerous and illegal driving. He was partly on the opposite side of the road, ignored a no-overtaking restriction and performed several wheelies.
In Jaunstein, he crashed while attempting to turn around but was not injured. Police stopped him and found that the motorcycle’s number plate was forged. He will be reported.
In a separate incident, a 58-year-old driver from Wolfsberg district collided with another car on a scenic road in St Andrä and drove away. Police later found him in his home town. A breath test showed severe alcohol intoxication. His driving licence was temporarily confiscated, and he will be reported.
