74-year-old woman dies after medical emergency at lake

A 74-year-old woman died after entering a swimming lake in Wildenau near Aspach in the Braunau district on Friday afternoon, ORF reported. Police believe she suffered a medical emergency.

The woman had gone to the lake with another guest from a nearby rehabilitation centre. They entered the water at about 3 p.m., while the man swam ahead.

He soon turned around and saw the woman floating motionless in the water. Emergency responders brought her to the shore and attempted to revive her, but she died at the lake.
