Fire evacuates apartment building in Dornbirn

A fire broke out in an apartment complex in Dornbirn on Friday morning, prompting the evacuation of the entire building, ORF reported. Heavy smoke spread through the building.

The apartment where the fire started was completely destroyed. Initial information from the scene indicated that two other apartments were also damaged by smoke.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control and then carried out extensive follow-up extinguishing work and checks throughout the building. The cause of the fire remains unclear.

At the beginning of the operation, a fire service vehicle and a police vehicle were involved in a minor collision. No one was injured, according to initial reports.
