The Smurf World attraction will open in Traiskirchen, a town in Baden district, in October, ORF reported. The operator says the 4,000-square-metre venue will offer an entertainment experience designed to bring generations together.
The Smurfs will move into their new home on October 23, their 68th birthday. The comic village is intended to make the fictional world physically accessible for the first time. According to the operator, it will be Europe’s first standalone Smurf experience world.
The attraction will combine education and entertainment, an approach known as edutainment. It is designed primarily for children and will encourage them to take part in activities.
Visitors will be able to explore the forest cycle in the six-metre-high Tree of Wisdom and work together to steer a raft across a pond at Smurf Beach. At interactive tables in the Water Workshop, they will learn about physical properties such as flow and pressure.
The attraction will feature 15 interactive activities, including a mysterious Gargamel House and a so-called Cloud Racer.
Advance ticket sales will begin on Friday, September 4, 2026.
