Swiss police have launched a national and international search for those responsible for a deadly shooting in Aarau, SRF reported. The Federal Office for Police, known as Fedpol, said it had sent two liaison officers to Aarau to support coordination between the authorities.
The officers will facilitate direct information-sharing, coordinate between the agencies involved and assess any need for further support. Fedpol said it remained in close contact with Aargau authorities and had established a command structure in Bern to coordinate assistance. The investigation remains the responsibility of the Aargau cantonal police.
The shooting took place on Sunday morning at a rave party in Aarau. A 22-year-old Italian woman was killed. A German national and four Swiss men aged between 24 and 31 were taken to hospital with injuries ranging from minor to serious. Police previously said that none of the injured was in life-threatening condition.
