Kenyan runners win Kärnten Läuft men’s and women’s races

Kenyan runners Raymond Cheruiyot and Janet Ruguru won the men’s and women’s half marathons at the 25th edition of Kärnten Läuft, ORF reported.

Cheruiyot, 30, won the men’s race in 1:01:53. Timo Hinterndorfer of DSG Wien was the best Austrian and national champion, finishing eighth in 1:04:20.

Ruguru, 33, won the women’s race in 1:09:22. Julia Mayer of Lower Austria finished third in 1:12:31 to secure Austria’s podium place.
