Two 17-year-old boys were seriously injured in an e-scooter crash in Kufstein on Saturday, ORF reported. Police said the rider probably lost control because of excessive speed at around 11 a.m.
The rider and passenger fell on Salurner Straße. The passenger was taken to Innsbruck Clinic, while the rider was taken to Kufstein Hospital.
After the crash, the rider and a relative reportedly tried to remove the e-scooter from the scene. They said they did not know where the vehicle was, but police secured it shortly afterwards.
A rolling-road test measured the e-scooter’s speed at 86 km/h. The people involved will be reported to the Innsbruck public prosecutor’s office and the Kufstein district authority.
