Bregenz waterfront reports fewer problems this year

Problems at Bregenz’s Pipeline waterfront have eased this year, with little reported noise, litter or vandalism, ORF reports, citing the city of Bregenz.

The public shoreline area allows people to walk, meet, relax and enjoy the lake. The city has posted rules for visitors, and officials say these now appear to be largely respected.

“There has been hardly any noise disturbance,” the city said. The litter situation has also returned to normal. City police issued occasional warnings during patrols, but no complaints are known, according to the city. The piles of rubbish reported in some previous years did not recur this year.

The city’s gardening department also reported no damage to plants. In previous years, benches along the promenade were covered with graffiti, planters were damaged and plants were pulled out. The city said the problems had not shifted to other locations.

The rules include a ban on glass and on feeding pigeons. Visitors must dispose of rubbish, avoid noise and loud music, refrain from camping, and keep dogs on a leash. Marked zones must not be entered.
