Altenrhein airshow sells 22,000 Saturday tickets as crowds surge

Huge crowds have gathered for the airshow marking the 100th anniversary of St Gallen-Altenrhein Airport in Switzerland, ORF reported. Organisers stopped Saturday ticket sales on Friday after 22,000 tickets had been sold. A total of 45,000 tickets were made available for the weekend.
Visitors faced lengthy delays on their way to the event. The drive from Dornbirn to Altenrhein took two hours on Saturday morning, compared with the usual 30 minutes.
The Swiss aerobatic team Patrouille Suisse is scheduled to perform in the afternoon. The team is due to be disbanded by the end of 2027, meaning the show could be its final appearance in the Lake Constance region.
The programme also includes jets, historic aircraft, rescue helicopters, a Zeppelin and the Flying Bulls aircraft collection, as well as parachutists and model aircraft.
