One person detained after Thusis house fire

Graubünden’s cantonal prosecutor’s office has placed one person in pretrial detention in connection with a house fire in Thusis, SRF reported. The person is facing criminal proceedings for multiple counts of negligent homicide and negligent bodily injury.

Four people died in the fire last week. The authorities identified the victims as a 32 year old Portuguese woman, Romanian men aged 35 and 44, and a 57 year old Bulgarian man.

The number of injured people has been updated to six.

The cause of the fire remains unclear. The prosecutor’s office told RSI that the investigation was complex and would take more time.
