More than 50 people have applied to lead the Salzburg Land Tourism Company, ORF reported on Friday. Twenty applicants are from Salzburg, and more than two-thirds are men.
The application deadline for succeeding SLT chief Leo Bauernberger closed on Thursday. The applications will now be reviewed, followed by hearings before an expert commission.
The company is seeking a candidate with excellent knowledge of the domestic tourism industry, international experience and strong negotiating skills.
The management position is advertised every five years. A decision is expected this autumn. Bauernberger will turn 65 next February and plans to step down from the management.
