Hotel guest arrested after stealing eggs from Vienna hotel kitchen

A hotel guest stole eggs from a staff kitchen in Vienna’s Donaustadt district, cooked them in a pan and ate them, ORF reported.

When police searched the 24-year-old’s room on Thursday, they found only the eggshells, along with items and documents he could not explain.

The Serbian national, who is registered in Vienna’s Liesing district, allegedly refused to pay his hotel bill and insulted an employee. Officers also found several vehicle registration documents, debit and credit cards, and car keys belonging to other people. One of the registration documents was apparently stolen from a vehicle the previous night.

Police described the man as psychologically conspicuous. He was arrested and taken to a correctional facility.
