UNIQA extends Salzburg Festival youth sponsorship through 2028

UNIQA will continue supporting the Salzburg Festival’s children’s and youth programme for another two years, ORF reported on Thursday. The insurance company has been a co-sponsor of the cultural festival since 2013 and has supported its “jung & jede*r” youth programme since 2020.

Festival president Kristina Hammer said the extension was a strong signal of the importance of cultural education and participation. “Cultural enthusiasm arises where young people have the opportunity to experience art themselves, ask questions and gain their own experiences,” she said in a statement.

UNIQA board member Peter Humer said the “jung & jede*r” programme gave children, teenagers and young adults access to the festival’s stage and audience without inhibitions. It includes mobile productions across the state, as well as children’s opera, theatre and music theatre during the summer. The programme also offers opera and acting camps, a children’s choir, youth tickets discounted by up to 90 percent and sponsorships.
