A 54-year-old man with about 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his blood collided with a passenger car in Aspach on Tuesday evening, ORF reported. He did not have a valid driving licence. Both he and the 21-year-old car driver suffered minor injuries.
The man, from the Braunau am Inn district, was driving his moped car along Wildenauer Gemeindestraße towards Roith at about 8.55pm. At the junction with the L507 in Aspach, police said he tried to cross the main road without turning.
His vehicle collided with the car driven by the 21-year-old, also from the Braunau am Inn district. The impact sent her car off the road. It grazed a tree before coming to a stop in a field about 70 metres from the crash site.
Both drivers were taken to hospital in Ried im Innkreis. The collision caused the two vehicles to be written off.
