Oberbank increased its after-tax profit by 11.0 percent to 199.0 million euros in the first half of 2026, the bank said on Wednesday, according to ORF.
The increase was driven by stronger commission business and improved results from equity-accounted investments. Operating net interest income fell slightly by 0.5 percent to 311.9 million euros.
Commission income rose 13.4 percent to 129.1 million euros. The equity-accounted result from associated companies, which is largely determined by Oberbank’s investment in voestalpine, increased 82.9 percent to 39.5 million euros.
Risk provisions for lending increased by 9.6 percent to 24.6 million euros.
Customer loans grew 3.4 percent from the end of 2025 to 22.367 billion euros. Customer deposits rose 1.0 percent to 20.8308 billion euros.
Bank gives no full-year outlook
Oberbank said it was continuing to take a cautious approach because of ongoing geopolitical uncertainty and the effects of this year’s drought-hit summer. Chief Executive Franz Gasselsberger said a precise outlook for the full year was not possible in the current environment.
