Fire brigade frees child locked inside car in Oberwart

Firefighters freed a young child who was locked inside a car in a supermarket car park in Oberwart on Monday, ORF’s Burgenland service reported.

The child’s mother was moving to the passenger seat to get the child out when the vehicle suddenly locked, even though the key was still in the ignition.

The car was parked in the shade, and the Oberwart city fire brigade arrived quickly. Firefighters opened the vehicle with specialist tools. The child remained cheerful throughout the rescue, laughing and showing no fear, the fire brigade said.
