Drunk driver crashes into tree in Pischelsdorf

A 52-year-old man drove off the road and crashed into a tree in Pischelsdorf in the Weiz district late Thursday night, ORF reported. He suffered minor injuries and was taken to Weiz State Hospital.

The crash happened at about 11.30 p.m. on a road in Romatschachen. The cause of the loss of control was not immediately known.

A police breath test found the driver to be heavily intoxicated. His driving licence was temporarily confiscated.

The vehicle was severely damaged in the crash and written off.
