Falling tree kills 10-year-old during forestry work

A 10-year-old child has died after being struck by a falling tree during forestry work in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district, BR reported.
The child was seriously injured in the accident on Friday and taken by rescue helicopter to a specialist clinic, where they later died from their injuries.
According to police, the child had been in a forest with an adult and was supposed to watch the work and help in an age-appropriate way. The Weilheim criminal investigation unit attended the scene, while the Garmisch-Partenkirchen criminal investigation unit is now investigating the circumstances.
Investigators are reconstructing what happened and currently believe it was a tragic accident.
Similar fatal accident in June
In June, a 15-year-old was killed by a felled tree during forestry work in the Regen district of Lower Bavaria. Despite immediate rescue efforts, the boy died at the scene from his severe injuries.
