Carriage service resumes in Val Roseg after fatal crash

Carriage services in Val Roseg have resumed on a limited basis after a fatal accident over the weekend, SRF reported. The operator said its vehicles had undergone technical inspections and brake tests before returning to service.

Only vehicles that passed the checks are operating. Until further notice, they will run without trailers.

A three-horse carriage from the company crashed in Val Roseg on Saturday. One person died and several others were injured. Authorities are investigating the exact cause and have opened a criminal investigation on suspicion of negligent homicide.

The operator expressed its condolences to the family of the deceased and to everyone involved in the accident, adding that it was supporting the authorities’ investigation.

One of the three horses involved suffered minor injuries and received veterinary treatment. The company said it was expected to make a full recovery. The other two horses were unharmed.
