Volunteers can join 43 nature projects in Vorarlberg

Nature volunteers can take part in 43 conservation activities across Vorarlberg by October, ORF reported. The projects aim to protect native habitats and biodiversity.

The activities will take place in protected areas from the Rhine plain to the mountains. Guided by experts, participants can remove invasive plants such as Himalayan balsam and goldenrod or help maintain meadows.

The work also benefits black grouse. Clearing dense alpine rose stands creates open spaces and preserves important habitats. Participants can also help create spawning ponds for amphibians such as yellow-bellied toads.

Tools and food will be provided on site. Participants need to bring suitable work clothes and protection from the weather. Because the activities involve strenuous physical work, a certain level of fitness is required.
