A cyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a car in Graz’s Andritz district, ORF reported. Police are asking witnesses to come forward.
The crash happened at about 6 p.m. at the junction of Weinzöttlstraße and Am Andritzbach. According to initial findings, a 37-year-old driver from Voitsberg was turning right into Weinzöttlstraße towards the outskirts of the city.
At the same time, a 41-year-old cyclist from Graz was travelling on the shared footpath and cycle path along Weinzöttlstraße. He was crossing the junction straight ahead towards the city centre.
The driver apparently failed to see the cyclist. The cyclist then collided with the car, fell onto the road and suffered serious injuries.
The traffic police are asking anyone with information about the accident to call 059133 654110.
