Emergency crews search for person in Rankweil quarry lake

Emergency crews are searching for a person believed to have gone underwater at a quarry lake in Rankweil, ORF reported on Sunday. The search was still under way.

Divers from the water rescue service were deployed after a person was reportedly seen getting into difficulty and submerging, according to the rescue and fire control centre.

A large number of responders are involved because the lake is relatively deep. Lighting has been requested, and the operation is expected to continue into the evening.
