Slovenian driver and passenger injured in railway underpass crash

A Slovenian driver and his passenger were injured after their car left the Bleiburger Straße and crashed into a railway underpass in Gonowetz, ORF reported. The driver tested positive for alcohol.
The 31-year-old driver left the road to the right at about 1.15am on Saturday in the locality of Gonowetz, in the municipality of Feistritz ob Bleiburg. The car struck a guardrail terminal before falling into the railway underpass.
The driver and his 29-year-old passenger, also from Slovenia, suffered injuries of unspecified severity. After receiving initial emergency treatment, they were taken by ambulance to Klagenfurt Hospital.
The car was completely destroyed. The St Michael ob Bleiburg volunteer fire brigade also attended the scene.
