Paraglider suffers serious injuries in Hauser Kaibling crash

A 55 year old paraglider pilot was seriously injured after crashing about 15 metres at Hauser Kaibling, a mountain in the Liezen district, ORF reported.

The pilot, who was from Germany, had launched from Hauser Kaibling on Thursday afternoon. Shortly after takeoff, he apparently encountered turbulence.

He then fell about 15 metres and hit a ski piste. Mountain rescuers provided first aid before an emergency helicopter took him to hospital in Schladming.
