Inntöne festival returns for 41st year in Sauwald

Thursday 13th August 2026 on 19:00 in Austria

Inntöne Festival, jazz, Upper Austria

The Inntöne Festival will bring musicians from around the world to Paul Zauner’s farm in the Sauwald from August 14 to 16, ORF reported. The 41st edition in Diersbach will feature several stages and a programme ranging from traditional jazz and Chicago blues to R&B and modern jazz.

About 3,000 people attend the festival in Diersbach each year. Chicago musician Michael Dotson will perform traditional Chicago blues with his band, combining the genre’s tradition with his own style.

Saturday evening’s programme will include Grammy-nominated blues and R&B singer Janiva Magness, who is known for her expressive voice and will perform with her US band.

Swedish trombonist, singer and multi-instrumentalist Gunhild Carling will also appear. Her combination of traditional jazz and a pop attitude has made her an extroverted and versatile figure on the international jazz scene.

Festival organiser Paul Zauner has developed Inntöne over several decades into an event where international jazz and blues musicians perform in the rural setting of the Sauwald. Concerts take place on the farm, in a barn and at smaller club venues rather than in a large concert hall.
