Gaisberg road closes to private cars for solar eclipse

The Gaisberg road above Salzburg will be closed to private cars on Wednesday evening for the solar eclipse, ORF reported. Buses and cyclists will still be allowed through.

The restriction begins at 6 p.m. at the Zistelalm and remains in effect until 8:30 p.m.

Visitors travelling to the Gaisberg summit plateau and back to the city can use public buses on route 151. The mountain road will also remain open to cyclists, while all paths will be accessible to pedestrians and hikers.
