Feldkirch, swimming accident, Vorarlberg

A three-year-old boy was resuscitated after slipping underwater at the Waldbad outdoor pool in Feldkirch on Monday afternoon, ORF reported. He was not wearing a flotation aid at the time.

Police said the accident happened at about 4.30 p.m. The boy moved away from his mother unnoticed while she was in the children’s pool area. He went down the slide and submerged.

An alert bather saw the unconscious child in the water, pulled him from the pool and took him to the lifeguard. The lifeguard immediately began resuscitation, assisted by two doctors and a nurse who happened to be present.

The boy regained consciousness after a few minutes and was taken to Feldkirch State Hospital for further medical assessment. Police said he was not injured and that there were currently no indications of lasting health problems.
