Truck crash near Glungezer leaves one person seriously injured

One person was seriously injured when a truck plunged about 25 metres at the construction site of the new Schartenkogel lift near the Glungezer cable cars on Monday afternoon, ORF reported.

The accident happened shortly before 6 p.m. near the lower station of the new Schartenkogel lift in a location known as Kalte Kuchl. The injured person was flown by Christophorus 1 emergency helicopter to a clinic in Innsbruck and was treated in the trauma room, according to the emergency services centre.

Firefighters from Tulfes and Hall, as well as mountain rescuers, were also deployed. The truck was secured and is expected to remain at the scene until Tuesday.
