Stranger surprises young rock fan with electric guitar

An unknown man has given an electric guitar to 11-year-old Bruce Hardiman after learning that he was saving to buy one, ORF reported. The family is now trying to find the donor so they can thank him.

Bruce and his sister Sophia had been selling lemon soda and raspberry juice from a roadside stand in Bisamberg, in the Korneuburg district, during the summer heat. Customers were generous after hearing that Bruce was saving for an electric guitar.

A man stopped at the stand and spoke with Bruce about his favourite bands. “We sold him a lemonade, he gave us a tip and left. Twenty minutes later, he came back and gave me this electric guitar. It was very exciting,” Bruce said.

In the excitement, Bruce forgot to ask the man for his name. “It happened so quickly. We hope we can find out who he was and sincerely thank him,” his father, Sean Hardiman, said.

The family moved to Bisamberg eight years ago. Bruce’s father is from New Zealand and previously lived in London. His mother, Tayeb, said the idea for the drinks stand had arisen spontaneously and praised the children for finding a creative activity away from their phones. She also thanked the people of Bisamberg for supporting them.

Bruce already knows a few guitar chords and wants to learn Metallica’s “Enter Sandman”. For now, he would also be happy to play “Smoke On The Water”. His dog Rustie has already become an enthusiastic listener.
