Four road crashes injure cyclist and three motorcyclists in Salzburg

A cyclist and three motorcyclists were injured in separate crashes involving cars and motorcycles in Salzburg’s Flachgau and Pongau areas, ORF reported. The injured people were taken to hospitals.

On the Haunsberg state road, an automobile travelling towards Salzburg collided at an intersection with a motorcycle travelling on the L204. The 60-year-old motorcyclist was thrown over the car and injured. A rescue helicopter took him to Salzburg Accident Hospital.

Later that afternoon, a 32-year-old driver and an 84-year-old cyclist collided at the Walchhofweg intersection in Radstadt, in the Pongau area. The driver was travelling from Radstadt towards Untertauern on the B99, while the cyclist was travelling in the opposite direction and wanted to turn at the intersection. The driver tried unsuccessfully to avoid her.

The cyclist received first aid from the Red Cross before being flown by rescue helicopter to Schwarzach Hospital.

Two further motorcycle crashes occurred on Saturday on the Hochkönig road, one in Mühlbach and one in Bischofshofen. One motorcyclist was seriously injured and the other suffered minor injuries. The Red Cross took both to hospital. The causes of the crashes were not known.
