Firefighters in Knittelfeld freed a three-year-old boy from a hot car on Thursday, ORF reported. The child had been locked inside the vehicle.

The emergency call came shortly after 3 p.m. Seven firefighters from Knittelfeld arrived at the scene with police and the Red Cross within four minutes. Relatives had already tried to open the car but were unsuccessful. To free the child as quickly as possible, the emergency crews broke a side window with a spring-loaded centre punch. The boy was brought out in reasonably good condition and immediately treated by the Red Cross.
