Thunderstorms with heavy rain caused several emergency callouts in Tyrol on Thursday evening, ORF reported. Basements flooded in Innsbruck and areas to the east, while several mudslides occurred in the Zillertal.
Several mudslides occurred in the Zillergrund. Initial reports said that several people were trapped, but the Tyrol control centre later said only one person was affected. That person found shelter independently and did not need assistance.
Several mudslides were also reported towards Stillupspeicher, although no one was affected there. Further reports came from Tux and Ginzling.
In Innsbruck, firefighters responded to flooded basements in parts of the city centre and in the Reichenau and Olympisches Dorf districts. Basements also flooded in the Wattens and Kolsass area.
