Car strikes seven-year-old boy in Lavamünd

A seven-year-old boy was injured after being struck by a car in Lavamünd on Thursday afternoon, ORF reported. The accident happened on Lavamünder Straße when the boy suddenly tried to cross the road.

A 42-year-old woman from Slovenia was driving north through the town at about 3:30 p.m. when the boy emerged from behind a visual obstruction and crossed the road, apparently without watching for traffic, police said. The car struck him, and he fell beside the road.

Emergency responders treated the boy at the scene before taking him to ELKI Klagenfurt. The driver was not injured, a breathalyser test was negative and her car was undamaged.
