Neighbour uses tractor to free man trapped by log

An 82-year-old man was trapped beneath a log while working in a forest in Tragwein, Upper Austria, and was freed by his neighbour, ORF reported.

The 79-year-old neighbour heard cries from the nearby forest and initially thought the man was calling his dog. When the cries continued, he drove his tractor to the scene and found the man trapped under a log held by a forestry grapple.

The neighbour used his tractor’s hydraulics to lift the log, then called emergency services. The injured man was taken by rescue helicopter to Linz Accident Hospital with injuries of unspecified severity.
