Driver fleeing police after running red light injures three in Salzburg
An 18-year-old driver who fled police after running a red light caused a crash that injured three people in Salzburg on Thursday, ORF reported.
Police said the driver ignored officers’ attempts to stop him and sped away. On Morzger Straße, he crashed head-on into a car driven by a 47-year-old woman. Her vehicle was then pushed into a car driven by a 48-year-old woman.
The 18-year-old and both women were injured and taken to nearby hospitals by the Red Cross. A drug test on the driver was positive for cannabis and cocaine, and police said he was unfit to drive. Items related to drugs were seized from his car.
His driving licence was provisionally confiscated, and he faces multiple reports to authorities. All three vehicles were extensively damaged.
