The Langenloiser Herbst festival will premiere a music performance built around an 11-metre hand-drawn score, ORF reports.

The performance, titled “You will see with your ears”, will take place on 8 November in the stairwell of the Renner family. Filmmaker and producer Rudolf Klingohr wanted to compose music despite being unable to read or write musical notation, so he recorded his musical ideas in lines and colours. The performance will bring these visual compositions together with musical interpretations, according to an announcement.

The festival is being held for the 42nd time this year. Its programme also includes an evening with actor Katharina Strasser on 6 November and a concert by vocal ensemble Vocatief on 14 November, as well as concerts, theatre, talks and a weekly film event.

Wine is also part of the festival. Local wineries will open their doors for “Weinschaun beim Winzer”, and traditional wine christenings will celebrate the new vintage. The festival ends in late November, when the first Christmas markets mark the transition to the Langenloiser Advent.
