Tyrol will grant or renew quality seals for 20 natural toboggan runs and 22 ski areas at the end of November, ORF reports. The province says 60 toboggan runs and 55 ski areas currently hold the seal.

Three toboggan runs are joining the programme: the Köpfl1er run in Oberperfuss, the natural toboggan run in Pertisau and the Pimig run in Steeg. All 22 ski areas will have their seals renewed.

The seals assess standards including clear signage, regular preparation and maintenance, and accurate classification of routes by difficulty. Natural toboggan runs receive seals for five years; ski areas and cross-country ski trails receive them for three. Operators and tourism associations can apply to the provincial government, and renewals involve a fresh assessment against its quality and safety criteria.

The province says the seals help establish conditions for safe winter-sports activities. It also stresses that individuals remain responsible for looking after themselves and others and following the applicable rules.
