Concrete batching plant maker Kaiser, based in Deutschfeistritz, has become insolvent, ORF reported. The company has debts of 3.6 million euros, according to credit protection associations, and 44 employees are affected.
Founded in 1973, Kaiser-Gesellschaft makes batching plants for the ready-mixed concrete and precast concrete industries. From its base in Deutschfeistritz, it supplied customised complete solutions, conversions, spare parts and services to customers in Austria and abroad.
The credit protection associations AKV and KSV1870 said the company had come under pressure from the war in Ukraine and high material and production costs. Recent large projects were completed at a loss, and a planned investor deal fell through, leaving the company unable to pay its debts.
No continuation or restructuring is planned. The company is to be liquidated.
