Burglars steal high-value equipment from Mattersburg gun shop

Unidentified burglars broke into a gun shop in the district of Mattersburg overnight before Monday and stole several high-value items, ORF reported. Police have not yet caught the offenders.

At about 1:20 a.m., the burglars cut through three galvanized steel window grilles and smashed a window to enter the shop’s sales room. They then used an iron bar to force open four locked display cases.

Police said the stolen items included silencers, thermal imaging cameras and night-vision devices. The value of the loss is not yet known, and the investigation is ongoing.
