A 55-year-old worker was injured after falling about four metres from a canopy in Großwilfersdorf, in the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district, on Monday afternoon, ORF reported.
Police said the Hungarian man was dismantling a metal scaffold at a construction site at about 1.20pm when he apparently lost his balance while trying to move an approximately eight-metre-long wooden beam between sections of the scaffold. He fell onto an asphalt surface below.
After receiving emergency medical treatment, he was taken by the Red Cross to the Fürstenfeld hospital with injuries of unspecified severity. Police said there were currently no indications of third-party fault.
