Second young man dies after crash in Großdietmanns

A 19-year-old driver has died from injuries sustained in a crash in Großdietmanns that killed his 20-year-old passenger at the scene, ORF reported on Saturday, citing police.

The crash happened in the early hours of October 26 in Ehrendorf, a village in Großdietmanns in Gmünd district. The car left the B41, crossed an embankment and hit a concrete field entrance head-on.

Both men, who were from Waidhofen an der Thaya district, were trapped in the car and freed by firefighters. The passenger died at the scene. The driver was seriously injured and flown to University Hospital St Pölten, where he later died.
