Police seize fireworks from 10-year-old in Vienna

Police seized 25 pyrotechnic items from a 10-year-old boy near Jedlersdorf railway station in Vienna, ORF reported. The boy was reported to authorities and handed over to his guardians.

Officers from the Floridsdorf city police command were carrying out a targeted operation against illegal fireworks on Thursday when they stopped the boy opposite the station. Police said he admitted he had pyrotechnics and opened his backpack.

Alongside the 25 Category F2 items, officers found a deodorant spray can with a pyrotechnic item taped to it. The boy gave what police described as incoherent information about where the items came from. Officers seized the items and the spray can.
