Wirtatobel Tunnel to close for emergency services drill

The Wirtatobel Tunnel in Langen bei Bregenz will close on Saturday for an emergency services exercise, ORF Vorarlberg reports. The L2 Langenerstraße road will be closed to all traffic between Bregenz-Fluh and Langen from 3 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.

Traffic will be diverted via the L200 Bregenzerwaldstraße road, and drivers should allow extra time.

Emergency services regularly practise responding to incidents. In October, a large exercise at the City Tunnel simulated a fire. Two weeks ago, around 200 responders from the surrounding area took part in a drill at the illwerke vkw facility in Rodund, in the Montafon.
