Police investigate dental floss strung across Traun forest path

Police are investigating after unknown people strung waxed dental floss across a forest path in Traun, in the Linz-Land district, ORF reports. The investigation began after a warning about the incident circulated on social media.

The warning, reported by the Kronen Zeitung on Thursday, said the floss could hit a cyclist in the neck. Traun Mayor Karl-Heinz Koll has reported the incident to police, who are investigating unknown suspects. They had no further information to share on Thursday.

Koll urged residents to report similar incidents directly to police rather than only sharing them on social media. He also asked the municipal public works department to increase checks in other forest areas in Traun.
