Motorway police recovered a stolen luxury sports car worth about 3 million euros at a petrol station on the A9 near Seiersberg-Pirka on Wednesday evening, ORF reported. A 36-year-old Croatian man suspected of stealing it was arrested.

The car, made by a French automaker, was stolen near Zagreb on Wednesday afternoon. The suspect is believed to have driven it through Slovenia and entered Austria at the Spielfeld border crossing.

Cooperation between Austrian and Slovenian authorities helped Styrian motorway police locate the car shortly after 7 p.m. During subsequent investigations by the State Criminal Police Office, the suspect made a comprehensive confession.

The Graz public prosecutor’s office ordered that he be reported while at liberty. The car, which police said was named after a racing driver, has been returned to its rightful owner.
