Thieves ram SUV into Vienna jeweller’s window and escape

Thieves drove an SUV into a jeweller’s display window in central Vienna early Wednesday, stole jewellery and escaped, ORF reported. Police are searching for the suspects.

The intruders used the vehicle as a battering ram to get into the shop on the Graben, then took jewellery, police spokesperson Julia Schick said.

The amount of damage was not yet known. The State Criminal Police Office is investigating.
