Firefighters in Neudorf spent four hours rescuing a cat trapped in a drainage pipe on Sunday, ORF reported. The operation required an excavator and a concrete demolition hammer.

The cat, named Toni, had crawled 3.5 metres into the pipe and could not get out on his own, the Neudorf fire brigade said. Firefighters dug by hand as well as using machinery to expose the pipe.

Once they reached it, they broke open the pipe and handed Toni back to his owner.
